Junior Fixtures

The Junior Program at Highfields which includes Aussie Hoops Sessions for beginners and Junior Fixtures will resume on Saturday 4th February 2012 from 9:00am

  9:00am Aussie Hoops (5-10 years)
10:00am Under 11 teams play
11:00am  Under 13 teams play
12:00pm 13 years and above play

Aussie Hoops Sessions
$5.00 per session pay as you go

Annual Association Junior Registration

$7.00 (first game)
$4.00 (additional games played same day)

Mondays (Term 1 2012) at Downlands College Indoor Sports Centre (off Kate Street Toowoomba)

This coaching session runs on Mondays 5:15pm to 6:15pm for both Secondary and Primary School age Boys and Girls

This coaching session runs on Tuesdays 4:30pm to 5:30pm for both Secondary and Primary School age Boys and Girls

Saturdays at Highfields Fitness & Recreation Centre

This is an advanced session which runs on Saturday Mornings 9:00am to 10:00am for both Secondary and Primary School age Boys and Girls

Senior Fixtures Muster Downlands College Toowoomba

Senior Sign On: Mixed and Open Mens Summer Competition

When:             Monday 6th February 6:30pm

Game times:  Competition draws will be available once teams for each fixture have been confirmed.

Where:           Downlands College Indoor Sports Centre (off Kate Street Mt Lofty Toowoomba)

Playing tops will be provided by Academy Basketball Inc where required. Players are to supply their own footwear and black shorts

Annual Membership Fee
$65.00 inc gst (players 18 Years and over )
$55.00 inc gst (players must be under the age of 18 years as at 31st December 2011)

Players must be turning 15 years or older to play in the Senior Fixtures.

Game Fees
Game Fees are pay as you go at $8.00 inc gst per game with a 50% discount for any additional games played in the same round.

Junior Rep Team Trials Saturday 11th February

The Regional Basketball Group Inc will  be conducting a regional selection trial on Saturday February 11th  to confirm regional teams competing in the Qld Junior State Championships.

Level 1 Coaching Course Sunday 5th and 12th February 2012

Leonard King from Basketball Qld will be delivering a Level 1 Coaching Course in Toowoomba on Sunday 5th and 12th of February (2 day course).

The cost is $125 per person. We encourage all members that wish to improve their coaching skills to attend this course.

New Regional Basketball Body Forms!

A new Regional Basketball Body has been formed by the clubs of Academy Basketball, Goondiwindi Baskeball, Hervey Bay Basketball, Pittsworth Basketball, Stanthorpe Basketball and Tenterfield Basketball.

The new organisation is a not for profit association and has been created to further support and develop smaller basketball clubs in the Darling Downs and Wide Bay areas of Qld.

The "Regional Basketball Group Inc", will be  affiliated with Basketball Qld and responsible for co-ordinating education and training for it's affiliate clubs as well as delivering Regional Carnivals and Competitions.

Highfields RSL Sub Branch Teams Up With Junior Basketball


Highfields RSL President Steve Dudley presenting the sponsorship cheque to Academy Treasurer Rob Finlayson

The Highfields RSL Sub Branch has donated $1,500 toward the purchase of new uniforms for Academy Basketball Darling Downs  Rep Teams.

The teams will be selected from the Regional Rep Trial being held on Saturday 22nd October at Highfields and will wear the new strips at the Qld Junior State Championships early next year.
